31/08/2022 (Agence Europe) – On Tuesday 30 August, the European Parliament’s political groups decided to hold a meeting of the PEGA board of inquiry into the Predator spyware, which is currently putting Greek Prime Minister Kyriákos Mitsotákis under pressure for spying on a political opponent via the Greek secret service (see EUROPE 13007/3). The Predator meeting will take place on 8 September, the PEGA commission said on Twitter on 31 August, and will replace a planned hearing on Poland, which will be postponed. The hearing will be attended by Greek journalist Thanasis Koukakis, who has been involved in the past with Predator tapping. The leader of the Socialist Party (Pasok), Nikos Androulakis, who is at the heart of the recent scandal in Greece, could be invited at a later stage. (SP)
