European Parliament calls on Hong Kong authorities to drop charges against Cardinal Zen

 “The European Parliament continues to show its active support for the democrats in Hong Kong against the oppression of the Chinese communists”, said Reinhard Bütikofer MEP (Greens/EFA, Germany) and Chair of the European Parliament delegation for relations with China. On Thursday 7 July, MEPs adopted a resolution condemning the arrest of Cardinal Joseph Zen in Hong Kong, as well as those of four trustees of the 612 Humanitarian Relief Fund.
