Serious cross-border health threats, EU Member States will analyse agreement reached with European Parliament

28/06/2022 (Agence Europe)On Wednesday 29 June, the Member States’ ambassadors to the European Union (Coreper I) will analyse the compromise text on the proposal for a regulation on serious cross-border health threats that has been provisionally agreed with the European Parliament (see EUROPE 12978/18). The agreement was presented to the European Parliament Environment Committee (ENVI) on Monday 27 June. “We managed to have a good understanding with the Commission and the Council on the role of the Parliament, and so on, on this important HERA topic”, said Pascal Canfin (Renew Europe, France), referring to the European Health Emergency Preparedness and Response Authority (see EUROPE 12888/20). The agreement is expected to be presented on 12 July for validation in a parliamentary committee, before a formal vote in a plenary session after the summer.
