28/06/2022 (Agence Europe) – The latest figures on agri-food trade—published by the European Commission on Tuesday, 28 June—show that the total value of EU agri-food trade reached €32.6 billion in March 2022, up 12% compared to March 2021 and up 13% compared to February 2022. In March 2022, EU exports of agricultural products reached €18.9 billion, whereas imports were valued at €13.7 billion, which represents an increase of 11% and 16%, respectively, compared to figures from the previous month. The report shows that, in March 2022, imports of Ukrainian sunflower oil, maize, and rapeseed into the EU fell by 10%, 37%, and 29%, respectively, compared to March 2021. The quantity of wheat imported into the EU dropped 77%. (LC)
