The European Commission authorised, on Tuesday 28 June, a €60.7 million Romanian scheme to support companies in the road haulage and passenger transport sector in the context of the Russian invasion of Ukraine.
The scheme, which was authorised under the State aid Temporary Crisis Framework adopted by the Commission in March, consists of liquidity support to companies affected by the rise in fuel prices resulting from the current geopolitical crisis and related sanctions, while ensuring the uninterrupted movement of goods and people by road.
The measure will be open to companies of all sizes operating in the road haulage and passenger transport sector, which hold a valid Community licence and are affected by the current crisis.
Beneficiaries will be eligible for limited amounts of aid in the form of direct grants. In particular, the aid will not exceed €400,000 per company and will be granted until 31 December 2022 at the latest. (Original version in French by Lionel Changeur)
