28/06/2022 (Agence Europe) – On Monday 27 June, in a letter to German MEP Viola von Cramon-Taubadel (Greens/EFA) and a week before a vote by MEPs on a proposal to reject the delegated act, Ukrainian Ambassador to Germany Andrij Melnyk, called for the European Parliament to oppose the delegated act to include fossil gas and nuclear energy in the EU taxonomy - a classification system to guide private investment by listing sustainable economic activities based on technical criteria, in order not to support Russian gas. “If the European Union improves the conditions for investment in gas infrastructure even further by adopting the delegated act, Russia will benefit from this.
