20/06/2022 (Agence Europe) – The Council of the EU decided, on Monday 20 June, to extend by one year, until 23 June 2023, the EU sanctions introduced in response to the illegal annexation of Crimea and the city of Sevastopol by Russia. These sanctions, initially adopted in June 2014, include bans on imports into the EU of products originating from Crimea or Sevastopol, on infrastructure or financial investments and on tourism services originating from Crimea or Sevastopol. Exports of certain goods and technology to Crimean companies or for use in Crimea in the transport, telecommunications and energy sectors, or for the prospecting, exploration and production of oil, gas and mineral resources, are also subject to EU restrictions.
