10/05/2022 (Agence Europe) – On Tuesday 10 May, the European Commission announced an additional €84.3 million in funding under REACT-EU, the initiative originally designed to help local and regional authorities deal with the consequences of the Covid-19 pandemic and the dual green and digital transition. The amount of €36.4 million has been allocated to Finland, and €46.1 million to Germany. Latvia will receive €1.8 million under the recent amendments to the REACT-EU regulation to accommodate Ukrainian refugees fleeing the Russian invasion (see EUROPE 12928/11). According to the latest figures published by the European Commission in early April, €41.6 billion of the €50 billion planned under REACT-EU has already been allocated. (PH)
