European Commission proposes new measures to support EU fisheries sector

On Wednesday 13 April, the European Commission adopted a proposal amending the European Maritime and Fisheries Fund (EMFF) 2014-2020 to support the fisheries, aquaculture and marine products processing sectors in the context of the war in Ukraine.

The text, which will need to be adopted by the Council of the EU and the European Parliament, provides that expenditure is still eligible for a contribution from this EMFF 2014-2020 until 31 December 2023. This proposal complements the decision...
