13/04/2022 (Agence Europe) – On Wednesday 13 April, the EU Council adopted two aid measures totalling €500 million under the European Peace Facility (EPF) to help Ukraine cope with Russian aggression. Having already adopted two types of supports on 28 February and 23 March, the total amount mobilised under the EPF for Ukraine since the beginning of the war amounts to €1.5 billion. “The next few weeks will be crucial. As Russia prepares for an offensive in eastern Ukraine, it is crucial that we continue and strengthen our military support to Ukraine”, explained High Representative of the Union Josep Borrell in a statement. The measures will fund both the provision of non-lethal equipment and lethal equipment for defence purposes. (CG)
