13/04/2022 (Agence Europe) – On Wednesday 13 April, the European Commission found a Belgian scheme worth €18 million to further support the tourist accommodation sector in the Brussels-Capital Region to be in line with the State aid Temporary Framework in the context of Covid-19. This is the reintroduction of a measure approved by the European Commission in October 2021, which expired at the end of 2021. Two measures are foreseen (direct grants and support for uncovered fixed costs). The amount of individual aid for hotels and aparthotels will be calculated on the basis of the number of accommodation units they operate in Brussels-Capital (€1,100 per unit and a total amount of €350,000 per beneficiary). Tourist residences, residential guest accommodations, and campsites will be able to receive aid of €12,500 for each accommodation unit they operate in this region. (LC)
