24/03/2022 (Agence Europe) – On 24 March, MEPs approved (571 votes in favour, 7 against and 10 abstentions) the provisional agreement between the European Parliament and the Council of the EU on the proposal for a regulation to transfer the management of the e-CODEX computerised system to the headquarters of the European Union Agency for the Operational Management of Large-Scale IT Systems (eu-LISA) in Tallinn (see EUROPE 12850/7).
The e-CODEX system allows national justice systems to be digitally interconnected for cross-border civil and criminal proceedings. This is part of a series of initiatives to digitise and modernise justice. In December 2021, the Commission presented a legislative package to this end (see EUROPE 12844/12).See the adopted proposal for a regulation: https://aeur.eu/f/x7 (Original version in French by Léa Marchal)
