21/03/2022 (Agence Europe) – The SME business climate reached 75.2% last autumn, which was a slight decrease of 0.9%, proof that the recovery had already been interrupted last autumn, according to the SME Business Climate Index presented by SMEunited on Friday 18 March. Last year’s half-yearly results were well below expectations and uncertainty appeared in the forecast, even before the crisis in Ukraine caused by the Russian invasion. The reasons included the “daunting” economic circumstances, such as the spread of new coronavirus variants, soaring energy prices and disruptions to supply chains. SMEs in the services sector were particularly impacted by new Covid-19 restrictions in the autumn, said the association, which represents SMEs and the craft industry at a European level.
