EU General Court removes businessman Abdelkader Sabra from sanction list

16/03/2022 (Agence Europe) – On Wednesday 16 March, the General Court of the European Union removed Syrian-Lebanese businessman Abdelkader Sabra from the list of natural and legal persons subject to EU sanctions between February 2020 and June 2021 because of the situation in Syria (Case T-249/20) (see EUROPE 12427/32). According to the General Court, the EU Council has not demonstrated to the requisite standard that Mr Sabra supports and benefits from the Syrian regime. See the judgment: https://aeur.eu/f/sp (MB)
