25/02/2022 (Agence Europe) – The European Cockpit Association, a European association of civil aircraft pilots, has stated on Friday 25 February that the European response to flights over Ukrainian territory and flights to Ukraine lacks “coherence”, “clarity” and “coordination”. “European states and aviation stakeholders – including pilots – should cooperate under the leadership of a dedicated European body so that they can share the results of risk assessments”, said ECA chairman Otjan de Bruijn. Faced with the “unmet” objective of European states to improve risk assessments, the ECA has therefore renewed its call for harmonised solutions at EU level so that information about potential conflict areas is made available to all parties concerned.
