Skills pact to make construction sector more attractive

08/02/2022 (Agence Europe)The social partners of the construction industry (FIEC, EFBWW), in cooperation with EBC, unveiled a pact on Tuesday 8 February to invest in worker skills to enable this sector of activity to succeed in the climate and digital transitions. This pact, which is part of the European initiative launched in July 2020 (see EUROPE 12518/1), identifies five principles: - create partnerships with vocational schools; - monitor occupational supply and demand, while anticipating knowledge and skills needs; - fight against discrimination ; - attract more young people and women; - promote a culture of lifelong learning. The signatories of the pact are invited to choose the most appropriate actions to meet their local needs.
