04/02/2022 (Agence Europe) – In our article “Transparency in pesticide use in agriculture, three NGOs accuse EU Member States of torpedoing European Commission’s proposed regulation” (see EUROPE 12882/11), it is noted that Denmark has deviated on two points from the group of 10 countries that watered down the European Commission’s proposal. It advocated the collection and annual transmission of data on pesticide use and also explicitly supported the proposal for the collection and electronic submission of agricultural pesticide registers, as set out in the report annexed to the article. However, this delegation accepted the EU Council’s watered-down mandate for negotiations with the European Parliament, the report says. (AN)
