European political leaders and young citizens discuss learning about sustainable development

28/01/2022 (Agence Europe) – The Informal Meeting of EU Ministers for Education and Youth brought together political leaders and youth delegates from across Europe on Thursday 27 January in Strasbourg to exchange best practices on sustainable development, both in schools and through youth engagement. These debates are intended to feed into the European strategy in this area, which was recently the subject of a specific proposal for a recommendation by the European Commission (see EUROPE 12869/17) and which is on the agenda of the Education Council on 5 April. The informal meeting organised at the initiative of the French Presidency of the Council of the EU was held the day after the European Youth Conference. The year 2022 is the European Year of Youth (see EUROPE 12848/3). (MB)
