The European Commission asked the World Trade Organization (WTO) to open consultations with Russia on Friday 21 January. The EU accuses Russia of applying export restrictions on wood products.
It targets increases in export taxes on certain Russian wood products, as well as the reduction from 30 to only one border crossing point through which products can be exported from Russia.
