18/01/2022 (Agence Europe) – The 26th Joint Cooperation Council and the EU-Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC) Ministerial Meeting will be held on 21 February in Brussels, as the European External Action Service announced on Monday 17 January (see EUROPE 12796/19). The meetings will aim at high-level institutional engagement between the two organisations and discuss concrete ways to strengthen dialogue and cooperation on both regional and global challenges, it said after a meeting between EU High Representative Josep Borrell, Gulf Cooperation Council Secretary General Nayef Falah Al-Hajraf and GCC Chief Negotiator Abdulrahman Al-Harbi. In its statement, the EEAS mentioned that the EU and the GCC have a common interest in addressing global challenges such as the green and digital transition, climate change and the fight against terrorism.
