18/01/2022 (Agence Europe) – On Monday 17 January, the EU condemned, through the spokesperson of the European External Action Service, the same day cross-border drone attack claimed by Yemeni movement Ansar Allah against a fuel tank storage facility near Abu Dhabi airport (United Arab Emirates), which killed at least three people. In retaliation, the coalition launched air raids on Sana’a. “Attacks against civilians and civilian infrastructure are unacceptable”, it said in a statement. The spokesman said the attack increased the risk of further escalation of the Yemen conflict and undermines ongoing efforts to end the war. He called for restraint and asked the parties to work with the UN Special Envoy to achieve an end to the fighting and a comprehensive and inclusive political agreement. (CG)
