European Commission authorises €2.55 billion Portuguese aid to TAP Group

On Tuesday 21 December, the European Commission authorised two Portuguese State aid measures in favour of the TAP group.

These are: - €2.55 billion in restructuring aid to restore the viability of Transportes Aéreos Portugueses SGPS S.A. (‘TAP SGPS’) and the airline TAP Air Portugal ; - €107.1 million to compensate TAP Air Portugal for damages resulting from the effects of the coronavirus pandemic between 1 July and 30 December 2020.
