European Commission pre-finances Romanian recovery plan with €1.8 billion

02/12/2021 (Agence Europe) – On Thursday 2 December, the European Commission paid €1.8 billion to Romania as 13% pre-financing for the Romanian recovery plan under the Next Generation EU Recovery Plan. Adopted by the EU Council at the end of October (see EUROPE 12822/3), the Romanian recovery plan is worth €29.1 billion, including €14.2 billion in grants and €14.9 billion in loans (see EUROPE 12799/12).
