Brussels, 25/11/2021 (Agence Europe) – The European Commission announced on Thursday 25 November the winners of the 2021 EU Prize for Women Innovators. The Netherlands’ Merel Boers, co-founder and CEO of NICO-LAB, a company offering cutting-edge technologies to help doctors improve emergency care, and Denmark’s Mathilde Jakobsen, co-founder and CEO of Land, a digital platform that shortens and digitises the food supply chain, providing easy access to good quality food, were awarded. Daphne Haim-Langford (Israel), founder and CEO of Tarsier Pharma, a company developing radically innovative medical solutions for the treatment and cure of autoimmune and inflammatory ocular diseases, also receives the €100,000 prize. The ‘New Innovator’ award goes to Ailbhe and Isabel Keane, founders of Izzy Wheels, which creates fashionable wheel covers for wheelchairs. They will receive €50,000. (CG)
