24/11/2021 (Agence Europe) – On Wednesday 24 November, the European Commission launched a public consultation on the future simplification and digitalisation of the labelling of chemicals such as glues, laundry and dishwashing detergents and fertilisers. According to the Commission’s ‘Fitness check’ of the relevant EU legislation (excluding REACH) and the evaluation of the Detergents Regulation, the understanding of labels could thus be improved. Consumers, professional product users, industry, civil society organisations, national authorities and any other interested parties are invited to give their feedback until midnight on 16 February. The results will feed into the proposals for the revision of the Classification, Labelling and Packaging of Substances and Mixtures (CLP) regulations (see EUROPE 12774/24) for detergents and fertilisers, planned for 2022.
