22/11/2021 (Agence Europe) – According to several sources, the European Commission intends to unveil the delegated act on the EU taxonomy for fossil gas and nuclear energy on 1 December, on the eve of a meeting of energy ministers of EU Member States. This long-awaited delegated act is intended to complement the EU regulation (2020/852) on taxonomy – a classification system to help investors by determining those economic activities that can be considered sustainable – by addressing fossil gas and nuclear activities. These were not included in the regulation when the first delegated act was presented on 21 April (see EUROPE 12703/2). When contacted by EUROPE, the European Commission did not want to confirm the date of 1 December. (DG)
