22/11/2021 (Agence Europe) – A public consultation launched on 16 November by the European Commission is open until 14 December on an upcoming update of the list of invasive alien species of Union concern - a threat that is one of the main drivers of biodiversity loss. A draft implementing regulation has been submitted for comment which will amend the list in the Annex to EU Regulation (EU) No 1143/2014 establishing rules to prevent, minimise and mitigate the adverse effects of invasive alien species on biodiversity and associated ecosystem services, human health and safety and to reduce their social and economic impacts.
