New exchange programme to support the transition of coal regions in EU

17/11/2021 (Agence Europe) – On Tuesday 16 November, the European Commission launched a new trading scheme to help coal, lignite, peat and oil shale producing regions achieve a fair energy transition. Called ‘ExchangeEU’, this initiative aims to connect these regions in order to better address the challenges they face in the transition process. It will bring together delegates from regions across the EU to share ideas and experiences, and to promote cooperation between peers.
