Carcinogens and mutagens directive, European Parliament/EU Council negotiations resume after several months’ break

After several months without decisive progress (see EUROPE B12732A24), the European Parliament and the Council of the European Union will resume inter-institutional negotiations on the directive on the protection of workers from carcinogens and mutagens at work on the evening of Wednesday 17 November.

The negotiations are expected to focus on three main issues: reprotoxic substances, exposure to hazardous medicinal products (HMPs) and the ‘risk-based approach’ to calculating exposure...
