26/10/2021 (Agence Europe) – On Tuesday 26 October, the 23 French MEPs in the European Parliament’s Renew Europe group appointed by consensus Valérie Hayer and Marie-Pierre Vedrenne as co-chairs of the Renaissance delegation, replacing Stéphane Séjourné who was recently elected to lead the centre-right group in the European Parliament (see EUROPE 12816/21). They are both serving their first term as MEPs. Ms Hayer will be responsible for press and media relations. She is coordinator of the Committee on Budgets and also chairs the Association pour une Renaissance européenne. Ms Vedrenne, who headed up the Maison de l’Europe in Rennes, is Deputy Chair of the Committee on International Trade. “We must continue the work started by Stéphane Séjourné to (...) bring our priorities to the fore, particularly on the eve of the French Presidency of the Council of the European Union”, she said in a statement.
