19/10/2021 (Agence Europe) – On Monday 18 October, Eurospace, which represents the European space industry, published a position paper on the 2022 ‘Space Summit’ (see EUROPE 12636/12) to significantly strengthen the European space sector and Europe’s importance on an international level. The association’s proposals include merging the SSA, SST and STM activities under a EU-ESA cooperation programme to strengthen Europe’s international role in the field of space traffic management. It suggests, among other things: - strengthening the European flagship programmes Copernicus, Galileo and EGNOS; - presenting an ambitious initiative to develop a satellite constellation for secure communication; - setting up a European human flight programme based on previous programmes; - improving the production of oxygen and hydrogen in Europe.
