On Monday 18 October, the Commission launched a consultation platform for the EU-US Trade and Technology Council (TTC). Called ‘Futurium’, the site allows companies, NGOs, think tanks or academics to submit their views and proposals on the future work of the TTC.
Once logged in to the site, users have access to information on the activities of the ten TTC working groups, as well as events and contributions from other users. They can then identify themselves by providing some data and request access as a “member”. This allows them to submit their own contributions.
“We want the platform to become a successful platform with a broad stakeholder's involvement by listening to everyone who has a stake in these issues. This platform is only part of our outreach. In line with our transparency commitments on trade issues, we will also be taking stock on a horizontal basis with civil society through our regular Civil Society Dialogues”, said EU Trade Commissioner Valdis Dombrovskis.
