08/10/2021 (Agence Europe) – On Friday 8 October, NATO Secretary General Jens Stoltenberg and Spanish Prime Minister Pedro Sánchez announced that the next NATO Summit will be held in Madrid on 29 and 30 June 2022. “When NATO leaders meet in Madrid at the end of June, we will take important decisions to implement our ambitious NATO 2030 Agenda: building our resilience and cyber defences, sharpening our technological edge and addressing the security impact of climate change”, Mr Stoltenberg explained. He added that leaders will adopt NATO’s next Strategic Concept which “will reflect the new security environment, reaffirm our values and unity”. Furthermore, Mr Stoltenberg announced that he was working on a new joint declaration on their cooperation with the EU for December 2021 (see EUROPE 12806/3). (CG)
