European initiative on universal chargers to be presented on Thursday 23 September

16/09/2021 (Agence Europe) – Due to a particularly busy schedule, the European Commission has decided to postpone the initiative on universal chargers until Thursday 23 September. The initiative was due to be presented this week. On 26 August, the European Commission published a study on the subject, which suggested a combination of options such as encouraging compatibility of phones with different USB chargers and decoupling the charger when a phone is sold (see EUROPE B12779A3).
