High Representative of the Union for Foreign Affairs and Security Policy, Josep Borrell, announced in early August the appointment of 11 new Heads of Delegations of the EU, who will take up their duties on 1 September.
Africa. Roland Kobia has been appointed Head of Delegation of the EU to Ethiopia, Thomas Eckert will be Head of Delegation to Algeria. Rune Skinnebach will head the delegation of the EU in Malawi, and Tiina Intelmann from Estonia will head the delegation in Somalia.
Middle East. Ville Varjola from Finland has been appointed Head of Delegation of the EU to Iraq.
Asia. Peter Michalko from Slovakia will head the delegation of the EU in Azerbaijan. David Daly was appointed Head of Delegation in Thailand.
Americas and Caribbean. Isabel Brilhante Pedrosa from Portugal will become Head of Delegation of the EU to Cuba and François Roudie will head the delegation to El Salvador and the Central American Integration System (SICA).
