EU helps Belgium deal with consequences of flooding

15/07/2021 (Agence Europe) – Following a request from Belgium on Wednesday, 14 July, the EU Civil Protection Mechanism was activated to help the country deal with the effects of floods. A flood rescue team and a helicopter were mobilised from France to assist with local rescue operations (in the flooded areas around the city of Liège). Italy and Austria have offered rescue teams.
