Brussels, 25/06/2021 (Agence Europe) – The latest figures published by Eurostat on EU agri-food trade show an increase in trade in March compared to the previous month. The January-March 2021 period, however, saw a 4% drop in trade in agri-food products compared to the same months in 2020. Imports (-8%) were more affected than exports (-0.9%). The month of March 2021, however, saw European agri-food exports increase by 20% compared to February. China, Switzerland and Norway are the top three destinations for products exported from January to March. The United Kingdom, with which trade had fallen in January and February, is following the global trend: trade across the Channel increased by 27% from March to February 2021.
