Czech Republic wants to make Poland pay for not stopping lignite extraction in Turów mine

16/06/2021 (Agence Europe) – The Czech Republic has asked the Court of Justice of the European Union (CJEU) to impose a daily penalty payment of €5 million on Poland for Warsaw’s refusal to suspend lignite mining activities at the Turów mine near the Czech border (see EUROPE B12726A29), the Court announced on Wednesday 16 June.
