Committee of Ministers adopts a revised Statute for Co-operation Group on Drugs and Addictions, allowing EU to become a member

On Wednesday 16 June, the Committee of Ministers of the Council of Europe adopted a revision of the Statute of the Council of Europe’s drug policy cooperation platform (“Pompidou Group”).

This revised Statute allows the extension of the mandate of the “Pompidou Group“ to addictions such as alcohol, tobacco, gambling on the Internet, as well as the promotion of respect for human rights in the policies adopted and the development of synergies between the Group and its main partners.
