03/06/2021 (Agence Europe) – The Airports Council International Europe, the International Air Transport Association, the European Travel Retail Confederation and Airlines For Europe launched the ‘Destination Summer’ campaign, on Thursday 3 June, supporting the safe reopening of Europe’s borders. The four major associations want to work more closely with the EU and the Member States to adopt a harmonised approach to lifting travel restrictions. The common approach advocated by these industry players is based on three pillars: the restoration of freedom of movement, the deployment of affordable, reliable and rapid testing capabilities and a gradual resumption of non-essential international travel for travellers coming from third countries with a good epidemiological situation.
