06/05/2021 (Agence Europe) – Ahead of the 26th United Nations Climate Change Conference (COP26) to be held in Glasgow in November, Conference President Alok Sharma and COP25 President Carolina Schmidt have called on all countries to follow through on their commitments made under the Climate Ambition Alliance or to join the efforts of the Alliance. In particular, Ms Schmidt and Mr Sharma declared, “We are currently a long way off what science tells us is needed over the course of this decade. Together we need to go further and faster to ensure that we build a healthier and more sustainable future”. Launched in 2019, the Climate Ambition Alliance brings together countries, businesses, investors, cities, and regions that are striving to achieve net-zero CO2 emissions by 2050. (DG)
