22/04/2021 (Agence Europe) – On Thursday 22 April, the Administrative Board of the European Fisheries Control Agency appointed Susan Steele as the new Executive Director of the agency based in Vigo, Spain. An Irish national, Dr Steele has extensive experience in fisheries management and control. Since 2013 she has been the Executive Chairman and CEO of the Sea Fisheries Protection Authority of Ireland. Dr Steele was appointed for a five-year term and replaces Pascal Savouret of France in this position. Under the supervision of the Administrative Board, she will be responsible for the management of the agency. The Board also adopted the agency’s 2020 annual report.
