14/04/2021 (Agence Europe) – The European Parliament’s negotiating team and that of the Portuguese Presidency of the EU Council have agreed to meet on 23 April for a second negotiation meeting on the country-by-country reporting (CBCR), announced the Chair of the European Parliament’s Committee on Economic and Monetary Affairs (ECON), Irene Tinagli, on Wednesday 14 April. The first ‘trilogue’ took place on 29 March and allowed each institution to restate its position (see EUROPE 12688/22). The areas of tension identified concern: – the content of the report and the additional information to be reported as requested by the European Parliament; – the aggregation or non-aggregation of the information to be communicated; and – the safeguard clause. While waiting for solutions to be found on these points, work has begun on other, less controversial points at the technical level, said Ms Tinagli. (MF)
