On Wednesday 7 April the Executive Board of the Conference on the future of Europe approved the creation of a multilingual digital platform for European citizens to contribute to the work of the conference.
The board members also set out the working methods. Through this digital platform - which will be the “central hub” of the conference, it says - citizens will be able to express themselves on all the issues they consider important for the future of Europe.
According to the statement, a “dedicated feedback mechanism” will be set up to analyse recurring issues raised by citizens. The aim is to feed into the work of the citizens’ panels and the plenary sessions of the Conference.
The platform will provide information on the structure and work of the Conference as well as resources for event organisers. It will provide citizens with a catalogue of events through which they can promote their initiatives at local, regional, national and European level.
The new digital platform will be launched on Monday 19 April. The next meeting of the committee, which held its inaugural meeting at the end of March (see EUROPE 12686/32), will be held in a fortnight’s time. (Original version in French by Pascal Hansens)
