24/03/2021 (Agence Europe) – Interinstitutional negotiations on the coordination of social security systems are not expected to resume before Easter, according to information obtained on Tuesday 23 March. Negotiations between the European Parliament and the EU Council have recently broken down again and talks have once more been put on hold (see EUROPE 12669/24). The European Parliament intends to adopt a resolution on European Social Security Numbers (ESSN) in April, whereupon it should reaffirm its positions and its willingness to reach an agreement with the EU Council over the regulation.
