09/03/2021 (Agence Europe) – On Monday 8 March, the EU called for a ceasefire “without delay” following missile and drone attacks on Saudi Arabia claimed by Ansar Allah, which it condemned, and coalition reprisals on Sana’a (Yemen), which it “is following closely with concern”. “Attacks against civilians are unacceptable”, said the spokesperson for the European External Action Service in a statement. He stated that recent efforts by the international community to establish momentum for a political solution to the conflict should not be undermined. The spokesperson reiterated the EU’s continued support for the UN special envoy. He said that the EU will continue to work with the special envoy to find a political solution, revive the crippled Yemeni economy and provide assistance to the Yemeni people, who are suffering from the world’s largest humanitarian crisis.
