09/02/2021 (Agence Europe) – The German platform FragDenStaat, which campaigns for citizens’ right to information on public life, launched a campaign on Tuesday 9 February to put pressure on the EU institutions to publish the so-called ‘4-column’ documents used in inter-institutional negotiations and summarising the positions of the co-legislating institutions. It is based on the March 2018 judgment of the General Court of the EU (Case T-540/15), according to which documents used in ongoing legislative negotiations between EU institutions must, in principle, be publicly available (see EUROPE 11987/12).
