Brussels, 03/02/2021 (Agence Europe) – The General Court of the European Union has annulled the decision of the President of the European Parliament of October 2018 classifying as psychological harassment the behaviour of Giulia Moi, a former MEP from the Italian Movimento 5 Stelle, towards two accredited parliamentary assistants, in a judgment delivered on Wednesday 3 February (case T-17/19).
According to the General Court, the principle of respect for the rights of the defence had not been observed, in particular because Ms Moi had not had access to all the documents in the file despite her request. On the other hand, the former MEP’s claim for compensation in the form of a payment of €50,000 and communication of the judgment to a plenary session of the European Parliament was rejected.
