EU mobilises €14.5 million for UN initiative on digital finance in ACP countries

27/01/2021 (Agence Europe) – On Wednesday 27 January, the European Commission signed a €14.5 million agreement with the United Nations Capital Development Fund (UNCDF) to accelerate the development of digital finance in selected African, Caribbean and Pacific countries. It is about deploying “mobile money”, which allows you to pay bills and transfer money using mobile applications. More than 600,000 women, young people and entrepreneurs are expected to benefit.
