EU very close to its 2020 renewable energy target, according to Eurostat

21/12/2020 (Agence Europe) – The share of gross final consumption of energy from renewable sources in the European Union reached 19.7% in 2019, only 0.3% below the 20% target set for 2020, according to the latest figures published by Eurostat on Friday 18 December. These figures also point to the great disparities between Member States. In 2019, the largest share of renewable energy in the energy mix was recorded in Sweden (56.4%), ahead of Finland (43.1%), Latvia (41.0%), Denmark...
